Moka coffee pot is a pressure-based coffee maker invented in 1933 by Italian inventors, Luigi di Ponti and Alfonso Bialetti. This is one of the convenient, compact and cheap coffee makers, but the quality of brewed coffee completely retains its deliciousness. Moka pot is commercialized under the name Moka Express. It has conquered the whole world for nearly a century and still used widely in Europe and Latin American countries today. This pot is designed simple, easy to use and almost nothing to spoil. The Moka pot is like a chef's pan or housewive’s trusty pot because it's durable and is the companion of many coffee lovers around the world. The thing needs to be changed the most is just a rubber gasket inside, which after changed, you can accompany it until later.
This octagonal pot has become an icon of industrial design, as it has remained the same during the past eight decades. It was only minor upgraded and a few variations of materials. Its timeless design is now on display in many famous museums such as the Wolfsonian-FIU, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and the London Science Museum.
