Bamboo basket is 50cm in diameter, and 30cm in height, made of 100% natural bamboo by the coffee planters in Indonesia. It has two handles to carry gently. It is the best choice for picking selectively by hands. People often tie two handles with a rope, then wear it on their neck, placing the basket in front of their stomach and move to the ripe coffee trees to pick and put the coffee beans in the basket. Until they feel heavy on their shoulders, this basket of coffee will be poured into a bag. It takes a lot of time to pick up the coffee by hands; however, this way will make the coffee get high quality, so it is the best way of harvest.
The pickers only choose to harvest ripe fruits, leaving green fruits on the branches for the next harvest. This method is more laborious and financial. In addition, the producers face more difficulties; for example, when working with hired pickers to gather only ripe fruits. The hired pickers are usually paid according to the weight of the picked fruits, so they tend to pick even the green fruits to add weight. Or if it rains, the fruits will absorb too much water, if not picked in time, the fruits will be cracked and fallen, affecting both coffee quality and output. Moreover, the cost of hand picking is getting higher and higher and accounts for a large proportion of the total production costs, leading to high product prices and difficult to be accepted by the market if customers do not understand the quality of the products.
