Previously, researchers had encountered many difficulties when learning about Ly dynasty ceramics, because they were often mixed with Tran dynasty ceramics. Therefore, people often write it as Ly - Tran ceramics. Thanks to the excavations in the Imperial Citadel area (Hanoi), a whole system of Ly Dynasty ceramics with very beautiful and perfect items has been discovered. They are even produced on the spot such as millet and mold pieces, piece of fired shell... The Ly Dynasty produced white glazed ceramics, blue white glazed ceramics, celadon ceramics, green glazes, yellow glazes and brown flowers...

Ly dynasty plate, 11th - 13th centuries, diameter 16cm; haunting flowers in the heart, clawing chrysanthemums, yellow enamel (color of melon juice). Yellow-glazed ceramics of the Ly Dynasty also reached their peak, and we no longer see such glaze colors in later periods on ceramics. Later yellow enamel was mainly found on some types of tiles used in the Royal Palace architecture, often called Hoang Luu Ly.
