This graceful bowl is bronze-yellowish and looks so beautiful inside and outside. This is a high quality Thadobati with a thick bronze layer and a small grooved rim of its mouth. There are translucent circles in its center and two decorative stretches that are small cuts creating a border around the outer rim. It is in excellently structural condition and intact.

This is one of the oldest forms of bowls, dating from at least the 15th to 16th centuries. There are many signs of significant that the surface hammered and engraved marks worn over the years. These bowls were collected from the Dolpo region of Nepal. It has great quiet and vibrant sound.
It is also one of the ritual objects commonly used by Tibetans (tapping the bowl with a cloth-wrapped wooden stick). Its sound is very beautiful and has good therapeutic value, so it is  also called "massage sound". The bowls are commonly used around the world for meditation, music, relaxation and personal happiness. They are produced all over Asia, especially Nepal, China and Japan. They are closely related to the decorative bells along the Silk Road from the Near East to Western Asia. A bowl similar to this bowl has been also found in the Central Highlands. However, it’s here used for ritual offerings but never allowed for eating.
